There is no place on Earth that is as small yet full of rich boxing tradition as Puerto Rico. A small set of islands in Caribbean, the islands have produced more champions than we can count. It is from this island of champion that our newest addition hails, talented super featherweight Bryan Acaba of Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Acaba amassed a promising 58-2 record as an amateur. When he was in he was going to be an Olympic alternate. But the pressures and temptations of the streets of his tough, poverty stricken neighborhood forced his parents to instead send him away to New Jersey to live with an Aunt. Acaba would drift from the sport in his new city. To anyone watching him walk about the streets anonymously, he was just another guy. Little did they know what talent lies beneath.

Soon enough, Acaba found himself living in New York right across the street from our IBF junior featherweight champion, Amanda Serrano. He met Amanda's trainer, Jordan Magdaleno and soon found himself sparring with a Gold Medal winner in the World Games. Wearing borrowed equipment and no mouthpiece, Acaba needed about a minute of the first round of sparring to show Magdaleno that is a special talent.

"I thank God every day for this kid", Magdaleno says of him. "He has talent for days."

It can only help that like any good young should be, Bryan Acaba is beyond hungry. Ready to face the boxing world despite having no pro fights, Acaba has jumped head first into the New York boxing scene, holding his own with Joan Guzman among others. With Jordan Magdaleno抯 help refining what is already a traditional Puerto Rican pro style, we are excited about Bryan Acaba's future.

We pride ourselves on finding hidden gems that others overlook. Jordan and Amanda are certainly two of those. Now with the addition of Bryan Acaba to our mix, we see big, big things ahead for Boxing 360 and most importantly, for our fighters.
