Boxing 360 could not be more excited by our newest signing Nick Casal. Explosive, mercurial, and downright exciting to watch, Casal tore through the amateurs with his aggressive, pro style, knocking fighters out left and right which is rare in the amateurs. Nick did this kind of damage en route to winning the bronze at the United States Championships 2004, gold at the 2002 U.S. Junior National Championships and at the Sweden Box-Cup for under 19 fighters.

After an exciting amateur career that saw Nick take on names like Andre Berto and the Dirrell brothers, it was time to turn pro in June 2004.

As he did in the amateurs, Casal continued in the pros tearing through the opposition. His development process as a prospect was filled with exciting stoppages and Nick went unbeaten for 17 straight fights with an impressive ten knockouts in his first ten fights.

After a pair of losses including one to former WBC lightweight champ and current top contender Antonio DeMarco on Showtime’s ShoBox which featured a tenth round that announcer Steve Farhood called the best they had ever had on that series, Casal hit a rough patch, the game of boxing had lost its luster. Casal still showed flashes of brilliance and explosive power but was extended the distance in close but losing efforts twice more before stepping away from the sport in 2009 following two solid decision wins.

At just 24 years old we feel the best is yet to come out of Nick Casal. Refreshed and ready to return to the sport to claim what is rightfully his, Nick Casal, a New York native now fighting with a New York promoter who will give him every tool to succeed, is ready to get back to the business of winning.
