That is the lowest opening odds for a Mayweather fight since his 2007 super fight with Oscar De La Hoya.
That fight was also held at junior middleweight though there were differing factors. In this fight, Mayweather is the 36 year old veteran to Alvarez’ 23 years old burgeoning talent. But unlike De La Hoya, Mayweather hasn’t shown any signs of slippage except for a tough fight with Miguel Cotto.
