50 Cent: The New Boxing Boss?

Yesterday twitter blew up when @50Cent went off on @OscarDelaHoya for a tweet the Golden Boy made the day before.

Oscar De La Hoya

“Everyone wanting to be a boxing promoter? Good luck. Easier said then done,” Oscar tweeted after the news that 50 Cent was not a licensed boxing promoter in New York. The boxing world was abuzz with the news and Oscar was being Oscar, chiming in on twitter without a care for who might answer back. Dude just rolls like that.

Oh no you din't, Oscar
‘Oh no you din’t, Oscar”

Lo and behold, 5o had some choice words for Oscar in the virtual conversation that was more one-sided merciless beat down than dialogue.

“Sweet heart I’m surprised you would respond to me and Floyd starting company the way you did,” 50 tweeted.  “I just want you to know if you ever want to talk you can give me a call girl.”

You’d think it was on but instead, Oscar stayed silent. Maybe he didn’t know someone was virtually beating him up?

50 started in on Oscar mercilessly.

@50Cent: “girl you can call me if you want to talk. Ok”

Ouch.

And then:

“Now every body wants to be a promoter girl you better stop.”

and even:

“Baby girl,@oscardelahoya,baby girl you here me,stop hating STOP IT RIGH NOW.”

But the capper was this bomshell:

“I don’t gamble floyd do,but I bet you you won’t be promoting Floyd mayweather no more. TMT PROMOTIONS”

It’s all fun and games until someone loses a fighter.

Could this be true? Is 50 cent going to be a top player in the game of boxing? He’s a smart man with a lot of money to burn. It’s very possible. And let’s be honest, promoting Floyd Mayweather, Jr isn’t exactly the hardest hustle in the world. He practically sells himself these days.

Oh. Oscar did respond “Your a boxing promoter?good luck maybe we can work someday. #success#nextgeneration #GBB #TMT”

That seemed more of a reversal on his first tweet and 50 wasn’t having it.

“Great back pedal, can you swim backwards like that to girl?lol I except that as a apology.#GBB #TMT more success a head,” answered a very bold 50.

We’ll see where this all leads. Very interesting, indeed.
