David Hopper of 8CN got a chance to speak with light middleweight prospect Alantez “SlyAza” Fox (7-0-1, 4 KOs), who stands 6-foot-5 and is from Forestville, Md. The 20-year-old recently signed with the New York-based promotion company Boxing 360.

DH: Tell me about yourself.

AF: My name is Alantez “SlyAza” Fox. I’m 154, a light middleweight. I’m 7-0-1 with 4 KOs. Pretty good amateur background as far as boxing is concerned. I’m 20 years old.

DH: Tell me about your amateur background.

AF: I had close to 200 amateur fights. Probably close to 130-150 wins. I did have a few losses. Two national tournaments under 19, the Ringside World. I was a runner-up in the Silver Gloves for two years.

DH: How old were you when you first started boxing?

AF: I was 8 years old.

DH: What was it that attracted you to the sport?

AF: The thing that made me come to boxing was the fact that I played football with some guys and they were in the boxing gym. I figured if I could handle them in football I could handle them in boxing.

DH: Talk about your decision to sign with Boxing 360.  Continue Reading…
