Former-two division world champion Tomasz Adamek (49-4, 29 KOs) will take on countryman  Przemyslaw Saleta (44-7, 22 KOs) this Friday. The bout is a scheduled for 10 round heavyweight main event. The site of the show will be the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland.  This will be the first fight for Adamek since November of 2014.

Adamek fought a very solid fight against the much younger Artur Szpilka his last time out. Adamek would drop a closely contested decision to Szpilka but showed that he can still compete on a very high level. This was very important since Adamek had not looked particularly good in some of his previous bouts. This will mark the second consecutive fight for Adamek in his native Poland where he is a big draw.

Saleta is coming off of a more than 2 year layoff himself. In his last bout he scored a  knockout of well known countryman Andrew Golota. Ironically Golota came out of a 4 year retirement for that fight. Golota was knocked out by Adamek in his previous bout before that. The common knockout of Golota helps makes Adamek-Saleta a local attraction.

There is really no telling if this will be Adamek’s final fight. If it is he has had a very stellar career. He has won the world title at both light heavyweight and cruiserweight. He got the opportunity to fight for the heavyweight title in his native Poland no less against Vitali Klitschko. Adamek was stopped inside the distance but at least got the opportunity. If this is the last fight for Adamek how fitting it will be for him to do so with his 50th career victory and in his native Poland.
