We decided to go with the rematch between Carson Jones and local United Kingdom favorite Brian Rose in our last fight. The bout was a rematch of their bout earlier in the year that Jones won by stopping Rose in the first round. Rose and his team felt the bout was stopped premature. We felt Rose could reverse things in a rematch and we were correct. Rose decisoned Jones this time to avenge the loss.

We will look to keep our win streak going and are choosing the fight between unbeaten Ievgen Khytrov (10-0, 9KOs ) of the Ukraine and the very dangerous Nick Brinson  (17-3-2, 7KOs ) of New York.  The bout will take place this Friday on Showtime’s Sho-Box series in Bally’s Atlantic City, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Brinson first broke on the national scene when he upset power punching Jorge Melendez a few years back on Showtime. Brinson was a huge underdog and stepped up in his first chance under the bright lights. He dropped a competitive decision to unbeaten Dominic Wade and was stopped by Andre Dirrell in back to back fights. Dirrell aside from being much more talented was much more physically bigger than Brunson who is better suited at 160 rather than the 168 at which he fought Dirrell.

Khytrov is an extremely hot prospect. He seems to have all the tools to become a world champion within the next few years. He also is a serious puncher. This makes his fan appeal that much stronger. He only has 10 professional fights but had a stellar amateur career and represented his native Ukraine in the 2012 Olympics.

We are choosing Khtrov in this fight. He is the overall better fighter in our opinion. Brinson fighting Dirrell alone gives him the overall edge in better opposition fought. That is the only edge we give Brinson. The opponent that they share in common is Melendez. Brinson decisioned him where Khytrov stopped him inside the distance. Khytrov will have the power advantage for sure in this matchup. Brinson is not the most elusive fighter defensively and we see Khytrov eventually taking control of the fight and winning decisively.
